Iconic Motor Cars - Classic Car Hire
Back Print Page Email Page

Driving Classically designed cars is a passion for a lot of people these days - especially if you are "bored" with the current crop of euroboxes. Hence the brilliant idea of classic car hire. All the pleasure without any of the downsides - turn up and drive.

These cars evoke dreams from your youth and give ecstatic driving pleasure. Hire one of these iconic cars for a day or two or three, a special occasion (that special birthday), a weekend away or to spice up your arrival at that very special occasion - your wedding.

My new Lotus is a very unique one - an automatic!!!!  It is my newly restored Excel SA in Petrol Blue, a lovely colour and most uncommon. I have only seen another one in this colour at the 40th Celebrations at Hethel.

It is one of only 36 built and only about 12/13 left on the road. For the full restoration story please see my BLOG. It was an extensive and expensive restoration and as usual cost more than was bargained for :-)

Classic Car Hire, Iconic Motocars BMW M3The E30 M3 is one of the best drivers cars in the world with a race bred chassis. The high revving engine develops just over 230bhp. The suspension is lowered and track prepared with upgraded brakes to match. All in all a thrilling drive that will put a smile on any driver's face, especially if you lower the window as you drive through a tunnel :-) So Classic Car Hire allows you to get behind the wheel of this unique classic car.

Classic Car Hire, Iconinc Motor Cars Lotus Excel SE

The Excel is a very rare car Lotus only made just over 2,000 of them and you are lucky to see one on the road. It turns heads wherever it goes and people are always asking "what is it?"

To my knowledge there are only 200 Excels on the roads of Britain today.

My next Lotus is an incarnation of an old name - the Elan - it offended some of Classic Car Hire - Iconinc Motor Cars Lotus Elanthe Lotus purists in that it has front wheel drive. In the tradition of all Lotus cars it "inherits" parts from other cars. The engine is an Izuzu Piazza Turbo and the brakes are off a GM car - the rear lights are from a Renault Alpine Turbo.

As is the Norm for a Lotus it is not the individual parts but the sum of the whole.
