I am selling my 1989 SE BRG, working Air con, new brake disks/pads/calipers/braided hoses, adj spax shocks, full sand leather, new headlining, new stereo and speakers, new bonnet strut and mesh in vents, newish front alloys, two new tyres on the front, cam belt recently done with service, new thatcham 1 car alarm - Cobra, new exhaust, large service history, LSD, polybushed, cam covers repainted, top end of engine rebuilt before I bought it by Steve Williams and I am sure I have forgotten things but they will be in the history - 149K miles
You can hear the stereo no problem all the way to 120mph (on the German Autobahn that is) - the speakers in the door are original but I replaced the speakers in the rear when I fitted the new stereo which has a single CD player.
Car has never let me down in the 5 years I have owned it

Also Headlights are new - new power steering pump - new washer bottle - refurbished water pump - new front fog lights - ignition leads, distributor cap and rotor arm all replaced as well
New lights and wiper stalks fitted recently - along with a replacement instrument binnacle - leather had shrunk on the old one
I had the roof, flying buttresses and rear spoiler resprayed when I bought the car - peeling lacquer. Also had the front bumper resprayed due to stone chips.
Just had the drivers door dismantled and a new hinge put in it, the door beam shot blasted and repainted. Everything was then reassembled and adjusted so the door closes beautifully now - also the door mirror was dismantled and reassembled as the mirror had slipped. The passenger door was adjusted at the same time and now closes perfectly and its door mirror had a new motor fitted. the light timer delay was replaced. the carbs were given a tune up and adjustment. the car is running at its very best :-) also a new relay and one cooling fan fitted at the same time.

In the years before I owned the car it had over £5,000 spent on maintenance and enhancements - I have all the receipts to prove this. The most important being the top end rebuild by Steve Williams.
In my ownership I have spent over £8,000 in maintaining the car and subtly enhancing it - most of which is documented below. I have 99% of all the receipts for this work and a good deal of photos of the car over the years.

All in all a very good Lotus Excel SE with sensible upgrades and in the best colour combination British racing Green with full Champagne leather
It also appeared in Classics Magazine in a Classic shootout at Bruntingthorpe - extract of magazine attached - it also appeared in SELOC mag and the BMW Car club Mag - copies of all these magazines will be included with the history of the car.
I am looking for £5,450 ono for this very underated car
