.png) This is a cracker of a little sports car - it ticks all the right boxes. Fast, Corners like a Go-Kart and with the turbo charged engine producing about 180bhp it is very fast.It is neat and nimble, easy to get into with a hood that is one of the best - which is easy to put up and down and when it is down it is completely hidden under its cover

The 1.6-liter, 162-bhp, 16-valve motor, fitted with multi-port fuel injection and mated to a five-speed gearbox, has turned out to be rather bulletproof. The composite body panels don't ding, rust or scratch easily and two sets of golf clubs happily fit in the boot.
It has been fitted with a Peco Stainless Steel Sports exhaust which meant we needed to enlarge the Turbo from 16mm to 21mm - these two modifications have released another 15 - 20 bhp so the car should have around 180bhp now. Believe me it is enough to make this a very rapid car.
The car suffered a head gasket failure and when this was being repaired we replaced the idler gear, water pump and cambelt at the same time, plus an oil and filter change. This was done on the 3rd of Oct in 2007 and the car has only done a couple 000 miles since then.

The brakes have been upgraded to EBC sports disks and green stuff pads, both front and rear pads were replaced recently.
I had the front of the car resprayed in 2007 to repair some stone chip damage. I also replaced the seats and door cards with items from an S2 model which had only done 40,000 miles - these are very supportive with no sag, they have embossed Lotus logos on the integral headrests.
The previous owner had upgraded the alloys to S2 spec and I think they suit the car better than the originals. I have also fitted a rear strut brace which tightens up the rear end of the car nicely when you are in spirited driving mode :-)
I will be sad to see it go as it really is a fabulous little car :-(
